About Sunet
I am a qualified physiotherapist with 30 years of professional experience, having established my private practice in Bloemfontein in 1996. My clinical expertise spans musculoskeletal (back, neck, joint and muscle) conditions, sports injuries, headaches and chronic pain management.
Throughout my career, I have remained committed to continuous learning, earning postgraduate diplomas in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy and Sports Injury Therapy. I have also completed a wide range of specialised short courses, including dry needling, advanced pain management techniques, advanced joint and muscle treatment techniques, therapeutic taping and temporo-mandibular dysfunction to name a few.
My professional experience includes serving as the team physiotherapist for the West Indian Cricket Team, as well as providing physiotherapy services to the Free State Senior Men’s Cricket Team (Free State Knights) over a 14-year period. I have also been fortunate to work with the South African Senior Men’s Hockey Team and the elite dancers of the Michael Flatley “Lord of the Dance” Company. A brief but enriching period working in the United Kingdom further broadened my clinical perspective and expertise.
In addition to clinical practice, I have lectured and examined students in postgraduate physiotherapy courses—an aspect of my career that has allowed me to share knowledge and contribute to the growth of the profession.
I am deeply passionate about delivering the highest standard of care to my patients, enhancing their quality of life and functional wellbeing. My approach emphasizes excellent service, measurable outcomes, and nurturing professional relationships built on trust and empathy.
On a personal note, I have been happily married to Gerhardus since 1996 and am a proud mother to two wonderful sons, Cornel (20) and Albert (16), who bring tremendous joy and meaning to my life.
